Oscar Pistorius arrives court sentencing

Oscar Pistorius is expected to be released on parole on Friday after serving only 10 months in jail.

The paralympian was found guilty of killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp and was sentenced to a five year jail term at the Kgosi Mampuru prison.

Judge Thokozile Masipa found Pistorius guilty of culpable homicide but the state will be filing their heads of argument appealing Judge Masipa's sentence.

The state believes that Pistorius must be convicted on the more serious charge of murder which carries a harsher sentence.

He shot Steenkamp through a locked toilet door in his Pretoria home on February 14 2013.
