Tributes for Coyne pour in

CONDOLENCES for late Weakest Link host Fiona Coyne, who was found dead on Wednesday in her home in Fish Hoek, were pouring in yesterday

Arts and Culture Minister Lulu Xingwana led the tributes for the stage actress and TV game show host Coyne, 45. Other celebrities expressed their shock at her untimely death.

In a statement, Xingwana said: "South Africa has lost a highly talented and experienced all-rounder."

She touched on some of Coyne's high profile achievements, such as hosting the Weakest Link, being a member of Capab, her playwriting and her book Who moved my Ladder.

"She also served on the Theatre Advisory Panel for the National Arts Council which I appreciated," she said, extending her condolences to Coyne's family and friends.

Social networking sites Twitter and Facebook were abuzz with messages of condolence. Most fans expressed their shock at Coyne's suspected suicide.

Talk Radio 702's John Robbie tweeted, "Sad about the suicide of Weakest Link host Fiona Coyne ... condolences to her friends and family."

Sam Cowen posted, "So sad to hear Fiona Coyne may have taken her own life. Why do bright, talented people not see their own worth?"

Many fans wondered why she had taken her own life.

Coyne's body was discovered by her domestic worker Zoleka Shumani on Wednesday morning when she reported for work.

Two letters - one addressed to Shumani, another to Coyne's mother Dolly Coyne - were found next to her body. Police do not suspect foul play.

She is survived by her mother and two brothers.
