Neighbours and a real estate agent have told Sowetan that Kelly Khumalo' s home has been on sale for three months .

Neighbours said since Senzo Meyiwa's murder, no one has lived in the house. Khumalo's mother Ntombi had been living there by herself until Meyiwa was shot and killed on October 26 last year.

An estate agent who, according to her Facebook page works for Real Estate Albania, confirmed that the house is for sale for R495000.

A neighbour said the house had been deserted since the incident.

"Kelly and her mother come occasionally to the area to check if everything is still in order at the house. I doubt there is furniture.

"Her mother has not been living there for months," the neighbour said.

When Sowetan visited the Vosloorus house on Friday, curtains were still hanging. Long grass has grown around it, completely blocking the kitchen door.

Steel burglar gates have been welded on the front and back doors.

The family of the man who was earlier arrested for Meyiwa's murder but later released for lack of evidence, Zamokuhle Mbatha, questioned why Khumalo's mother had abandoned the house.

"Why did Kelly's mom leave the house? What is she running away from?" asked Mbatha's brother Thabo Mzinyane.

Another neighbour said it was unfortunate that no arrests had been made after such a long time.

"I feel sorry for Senzo's family. I understand what they are going through because my family is going through the same thing.

"Nearly 15 years ago my cousin was shot and killed. No arrests have been made. It hurts to know that the killer is somewhere out there," said the 29-year-old man.

Khumalo could not be reached for comment.
