An Administrative Officer at the Department of Health in Nelspruit and two company directors of an IT company were arrested on Wednesday night the SAPS said in a statement.
The three were arrested for attempting to defraud the department of close to R1 million.
The two company directors had allegedly colluded with the administrative officer to prepare and submit fraudulent tax invoices in order to misrepresent that IT equipment to the value of R980 000 had been supplied to the department.
The three suspects will appear before the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today (Thursday) facing charges of fraud.
