BAFANA Bafana winger Thuso Phala has attracted interest from two unnamed German Bundesliga clubs, the player's agent has revealed.

The Platinum Stars midfielder is also being tracked by a team from the German second division as well as clubs in Portugal and Israel.

But it appears highly unlikely that he will make a move in this January transfer window, unless Bafana Bafana bow out in the first round of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, and he is then able to fly to Europe for a medical before the window closes on January 31.

Sowetan revealed yesterday that Stars would be willing to listen to offers for the player from overseas clubs, but ruled out selling him to another PSL team.

This was a view backed up by the player's agent, Tim Sukazi, who says it is Europe or nothing for the player as things stand.

"Since the game against Norway in Cape Town earlier this month there has been a huge amount of interest in Thuso and we have had contact from two top-flight teams in Germany who are serious in their interest. It would be wrong of me to name names, but they would both present a very good opportunity for Thuso," Sukazi says.

"But it looks like we will not have the time to get anything done now in this window with the Nations Cup ongoing, so it is likely that something will only happen in June. We are not even considering a local move at this stage, for us the aim is to get him overseas."

Phala is out of contract at Dikwena at the end of the season, and so the 26-year-old would be able to move on a free transfer.
