Celtic players invigorated after crisis meeting

Bloemfontein Celtic's crisis meeting has resulted in the technical team and players having more answers than questions about the team's poor run, so claims the club's midfielder Musa Nyatama.

But will Celtic have the answers for Orlando Pirates when the two teams meet at Orlando Stadium tomorrow?

Nyatama thinks so. "It's been a frustrating time for us, but we will go all out against Pirates."

Phunya Sele Sele's technical team, players, management and some supporters met on Monday for a "heart-to-heart" meeting. This was on the back of the club winning just one of their last 15 matches.

"We all promised to up our game, to give 120%. Who thought Pirates would be beaten by Free State Stars the other day? Pirates are beatable, so anything is possible," he said.

Pirates may have lost 1-0 against Free State Stars nine days ago, but their last match was a morale-boosting 3-1 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces five days ago to break into the top eight again.

And Bucs coach Eric Tinkler says, "you are only as good as your last game".

"What is important is we are distancing ourselves from the teams at the bottom, which was our first objective, and now it is time to try to secure our position in the top eight.

"It is about us now starting to see a little bit more consistency, but you are only as good as your last game and we need to take that into our next game, which is Bloem Celtic," said the former Bafana Bafana midfielder.

In another Absa Premiership clash on Saturday, struggling Tshwane side University of Pretoria will be looking to avenge their heavy defeat to Chippa United in August.

The Chilli Boys walloped AmaTuks 4-0 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

University of Pretoria currently occupy 15th spot, while Chippa are in a much better position in sixth .
